There are some truly epic character moments in this book that involve fighting pits and demon slaying. As with Malice, Valor has a massive list of characters, some of which I sometimes struggle to remember and others I’ll never forget for the rest of my life. There are so many characters lives resting in Gwynne’s hand that I have the sudden urge to eat a whole box of cookies to alleviate my anxiety. The battle between demons and angels is being waged and everyone is in danger of losing more than just their lives. But the road is fraught with enemies and wolven, driving him from his true destiny as the Bright Star. Corban, having lost his home hopes to find sanctuary in Domhain. High King Nathair, believing himself to be on a holy mission, raises his fist against anyone who opposes him. The Banished Lands are in the midst of war.
